LACSLink

Locatable Address Conversion System — a USPS database that converts rural-style addresses (RR, HC) to their new 911 street addresses.

LACSLink (Locatable Address Conversion System) maintains the crosswalk between old-style rural route addresses and their modern 911 street address equivalents. When a community converts from Rural Route/Box addressing to named streets and house numbers (typically mandated by 911 emergency service requirements), the USPS records the mapping in the LACSLink database.

CASS-certified software accesses LACSLink during address processing to automatically convert legacy rural addresses. If a mailer's database contains 'RR 2 Box 145' and the area has been converted, LACSLink provides the equivalent '247 County Road 12.'

LACSLink processing is required for mailers claiming USPS automation discounts. The database is updated regularly and access is restricted to licensed CASS-certified software vendors.
