A USPS ground shipping service for commercial mailers sending large volumes of parcels, offering lower rates in exchange for destination entry and longer delivery times.
Parcel Select is a USPS commercial-only service designed for high-volume shippers and consolidators. It offers significantly lower rates than Priority Mail or retail Ground Advantage in exchange for the mailer doing much of the pre-processing: sorting parcels by destination, dropping them at the appropriate NDC, SCF, or destination delivery unit (DDU), and meeting minimum volume requirements.
Delivery times for Parcel Select are typically 2-8 business days depending on the entry point and destination. The closer to the final destination the mailer enters the parcel, the lower the rate but the more transportation the mailer must arrange.
Parcel Select is the service underlying many retailers' 'economy' or 'standard' shipping options. UPS SurePost and FedEx SmartPost also use Parcel Select for last mile delivery by the USPS.
